Eagle Travel in Goldington Road doesn’t look like a normal Travel Agency, because it isn’t.

Established since 1991 and owned by Sue Alexander & Carole Forth it is totally independent .This means that they are able to book any bonded tour operator, travel supplier, rail operator, cruise line or airline. Unlike most high street agents who are owned by parent companies and can only offer certain travel products. Being fully licensed with ABTA, ATOL & IATA means that Eagle Travel are able to source travel from a huge variety of suppliers and tailor-make a holiday to obtain the very best value and to suit their clients’ requirements.

Sue has been in travel since 1979 after leaving school in Bedford and joining a local independent travel agency Harry Leeks Travel. when the business was sold to Pickford’s Travel in the 80’s she worked for some of the largest travel agents  before joining the team at Eagle in 1994. Sue has seen many changes over the years. ‘The challenges faced by travel agents today are far more complex than when I started  33 years ago – back then we just competed with other Travel Agents, discounting was unheard of  and the best service levels  won the day. Now people have so many other ways of making a holiday reservation, excellent service and great value have never been more important. We are very mindful of the choice so always endeavour to offer the very best price and professional unbiased advice; we also work with some superb niche travel companies that you will not find elsewhere, who have some fabulous holiday ideas.’ Sue has travelled extensively and has recently had a holiday in South Africa.

The small team of travel professionals include Sheena Todd, who has long been associated with the Rowing Club and Bedford Blues. Sheena has been in travel for over 10 years having completed a GNVQ Travel & Tourism Diploma at Bedford College. She worked for Allen Sturges Travel before joining Eagle Travel when Allen retired and sold his business. Now that Allen is offering his ever popular Tours exclusively through Eagle Sheena is delighted to be working with him again. She is currently negotiating with several Tour Operators to obtain ‘packages’ for the British & Irish Lions Tour in Australia next year. Sheena has recently returned from Perth, Western Australia.

Coral Deverick joined the Team in August straight out of college where she had completed a BTech level 3 National Diploma in Travel & Tourism. Being a teenager means that she has brought with her a wealth of experience of social networking and has dragged Eagle Travel into the 21 st Century with Facebook & Twitter. Coral loves America and is looking forward to visiting the new Harry Potter Ride at Universal in Florida

Carole has been with Eagle since it was started in 1991 by Harry Stillman and Don Gillett and she handles the accounts side of the business. She has recently been involved with implementing compliance requirements surrounding the ATOL Reform, which thankfully hasn’t affected Eagle too much as they have been ATOL Licensed for many years. Carole likes to visit the Caribbean whenever possible.

So if you are looking for good quality great value and professional unbiased advice call into your local Travel Agency, Eagle Travel at 11 Goldington Road.
