Lapland

Lapland offers experiences like no other destination and a visit in December will certainly leave you with unforgettable memories.  A place of fascinating beauty with hundreds of magical winter activities and the opportunity to see the awe-inspiring The Northern lights and even catch a glimpse of Santa if he’s not too busy!.

There’s no getting away from the fact that the temperatures can fall as low as -35 degrees Celsius, which is chilly! Expect -7 to -20 degrees Celsius as a rule. There is approximately three hours of ‘blue light’ during the day with some activities taking place beneath the light of fires or candles that add to the atmosphere. The abundance of snow provides a magical setting and the flat landscape is perfect for leisurely Reindeer sleigh rides, exciting Husky adventures or turbo charged Snowmobile safaris. If you’re the adventurous type then a seven night stay is a must, there are plenty of things to do and experience, and activities for all ages. World class cross country skiing, Snow shoe walking, a stay in the famous Lainio Snow Hotel or even a night in a private glass Igloo where there’s the chance to witness the mysterious spectacle that is the Northern lights. NASA have predicted that the 2014/2015 season will produce the best display of the Aurora Borealis in over a decade.

For the young, or young at heart, Lapland offers the perfect opportunity to meet Father Christmas,  After all Lapland is the home of Santa Claus!

For those with little time it is possible to visit Santa in a day, which includes snowmobile adventures, husky dog experience, tobogganing and snowman making. The undoubted highlight is a sleigh ride through the forest on a secret track lit by twinkling lights to the hut where Father Christmas himself lives and is waiting to greet each child personally.

You’ll have a private meeting with Santa on some three and four night trips and have dinner with ‘the big man’ himself on your last night. There are trips where you have the opportunity to meet Santa and his Elves and help bake gingerbread in his workshop deep in the magical forest.

All trips include flights and transfers, accommodation and hot meals & drinks as specified, warm and cosy thermal suits and boots.  It is also advisable to take lots of layers, gloves & hats.

There are usually optional activities available to tailor-make your experience.  It’s the most magical moments that are sure to make a child’s dream come true and leave a smile on every adults face. Family memories to last a lifetime.

Advice is the most valuable upgrade on any holiday Peak holiday booking season is here, and tour operators are releasing some brilliant offers (see below for inspiration!). That means maximum choice, strong availability, and excellent value on holidays across the board. Here are five reasons to speak to us first — your independent travel expert who works for you . 1. Agents compare all operators — not just one When operators run big sales, it’s easy to assume you’re getting the best deal. We check multiple suppliers, hidden offers and agent-only rates to ensure you get the best price and the best holiday for your needs. Travel agents and travel companies thrive on working closely together. There are some amazing small specialists out there whom you may never have heard of. We pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with the best specialist travel partners and can guarantee you will be taken good care of. 2. Expert advice that actually saves you money We know when it’s worth upgrading, when it’s not, which destinations offer better value, and how to avoid the “extras” that can pile up when booking direct. This is the sort of guidance that only comes from years of booking holidays, not from drop-down menus. 3. Independent, unbiased recommendations We are a completely independent agent which means we have no ties with any travel company. We have no agenda other than helping you choose the right holiday . That means you get professional advice that’s genuinely in your best interest. With decades of travel industry experience between us, we are experts at matching clients to the right holiday. 4. Your booking is fully supported — before, during and after your trip We've got your back. We make sure you have all the correct travel documents so the plane won’t take off (or the ship won’t sail!) without you. You have one point of contact who knows your booking, your preferences, and your plans. If something changes or goes wrong, we will sort it. No call centres. No hassle. 5. Your money is protected We ensure you are covered. We understand the small print, the supplier rules, and the protection your booking needs. It’s reassurance you don’t always get when navigating online deals on your own. In short: peak booking season is the ideal time to use us. Before you commit, let us help you compare, check, and tailor the right option for you — often at the same price or better than going direct. It is important to make clear that our services are completely free to you. Like most travel agents, we work with our travel partners on a commission basis so you will pay no more than if you booked directly with the travel company (and you might even pay less!). If you’d like us to search out your perfect holiday, simply get in touch. We’re here to save you time and help you book with confidence. We look forward to hearing from you. After careful consideration we decided to take our two children aged 6 and 9 to the Fjords for a week in May on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas. Firstly, we sailed from Southampton and the embarkation was seamless.
